If you are used to using Google as a search engine, you will soon discover that you can use the same search syntax in Aarhus University (AU) searches – Google technology is actually used for indexing and searching on AU’s web pages.
The search function also learns as it goes. This means that if users of a specific domain typically click on the third search result for a certain search word, for example, this search result will end up at the top of the list of search results.
If you have any comments about the search function, or suggestions regarding changes, please send an e-mail to search@au.dk. This could be about topics such as:
- The search function can be set up so that particular search words are recognised, which causes a particular link to turn up in the ‘Key word’ field. Send your suggestions with links and related search words by e-mail to search@au.dk.
- If there are specific pages on a domain that should not be shown in the search results, send links to such pages by e-mail to search@au.dk. This could be about pages such as a test page or a page that has not yet been published.
If you are interested in search engine optimisation of the content and structure of your pages, you can read Google’s Design and content guidelines.
